DURBAN – Police operations are still on going in the KwaZulu-Natal province to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms and other crime related activities.
Members of the community can expect increased police visibility in their areas, as operations are intensified. We are also appealing to our communities to continue providing us with valuable information that will assist in arresting those involved in criminal activities. An intelligence driven operation was carried out yesterday by the King Cetshwayo District in Eshowe.
The team proceeded to KwaKhoza area in Eshowe following up on information about suspects who were in unlawful possession of firearms. The operation yielded good results when two suspects were found in possession of a revolver, shotgun, 59 rubber rounds and 7 rounds of ammunition. Two suspects aged 22 and 23 were placed under arrested for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. They appeared in the Enkanyezini Magistrates Court yesterday and they were each granted bail of R300. The matter was adjourned to 1 September 2021.
