DURBAN – Nkosinathi Mahlaba/Mbatha (43) appeared before the Ekuvukeni Magistrates Court on 10 August 2021 for stock theft. He was granted a bail of R1500-00. The matter was adjourned to 01 September 2021.
His arrest follows a case of stock theft that was opened at Ekuvukeni SAPS on 08 August 2021. The complainant alleged that on 07 August 2021, he went to check for his stock at a farm in Ekuvukeni when he noticed that two cattle were missing. He checked everywhere but could not find the missing stock. A case of stock theft was opened at Ekuvukeni SAPS.
The docket was transferred to the Ladysmith Stock Theft Unit for further investigation. On 09 August 2021, Ladysmith Stock Theft Unit received information and the accused was located at Limehill in Ladysmith. He was found with two stolen cattle and was placed under arrest.
