On Sunday 27 of June 2021 at about 08:00, members from the Queenstown Serious and Violent Crime Task Team, K9-Unit and Ngcobo Tactical Response Team arrested a 30-year-old male, Bonisanani Fihla in the Jojweni area of Ngobo for serious cases committed in the Cofimvaba and Ngcobo policing precincts.
This followed after information was received that a suspect which allegedly could be linked to several serious cases committed in the mentioned areas was going to flee the area to Cape Town.
Recoveries made:
* A Hyuandai Creta SUV motor vehicle valued at R300 000.00
* an undisclosed amount of cash|
* a Norinco 9mm firearm with live rounds
* 50 rounds, 9mm live ammunition
* one Huawei cellphone
The suspect also appeared to be sought for the following outstanding warrant of arrests:
* Houtbay case of possession of a unlicensed firearm
* Phillipi case of possession of a unlicensed firearm
* Stellenbosch case of murder
The accused appeared before the Cofimvaba Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 29 June 2021 on a Bridgecamp case relating to murder, two counts of business robbery and two counts of attempted murder. The suspect was remanded in custody at the Queenstown prison and will appear again on the 19 July 2021 for a formal bail application.
The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier PC Mavuka applauded the diligence and support of the investigation team.
