Provincial Head Office Women’s Network executive structure elected

ZWELITSHA – The Eastern Cape Provincial Women’s Network converged at Griffiths Mxenge building today, 10 June 2021 as part of a roadshow to nominate and elect members to lead for next three years, Women’s Network District executive structures.

The roadshow began with election of District executive structures on 25 May 2021. Provincial Head Office was the second last to elect its executive while Amathole District will be the last district to elect their executive structure tomorrow.

Eastern Cape Provincial Women’s Network Champion, Col Lungi Sabane welcomed all delegates in attendance assuring them that they are, “God’s chosen ones to lead Women’s Network organization.”

She also thanked them for attending and ensuring that the agenda of women empowerment and development is on track.

Explaining the purpose of the day AC Xoli Ralane- Mathumbi, the Provincial Treasurer – Women’s Network said the Women’s Network is a known structure within Saps and was established in 2003.

“We are here to get people who will drive Women’s Network from here forward and this vehicle cannot move without a driver.  We need a leader or driver to take this vehicle forward. We are here to elect people to drive Women’s Network from here forward,” she elaborated.

The meeting proceeded to nominate and members were voted to eight positions as follows:-

Chair- Lt Col Nikki Hlophe (Inspectorate)

Deputy chair – Lt Col Andy Mahlelehlele (DPC: Vispol)

Secretary – AC Aviwe Mamfengu (Finance)

Deputy Secretary – PO Andy Kumbaca (HRU)

Treasurer – Captain Nomvume Klaas (Detectives)

PRO – AC Vuvu Buso (Communication)

Additional members – AC Noni Debese (Inspectorate)

Captain Thuli Jwambi (HRM)

The incoming Chairperson, Lt Col Nikki Hlophe in her acceptance speech said,

“As this executive we promise to take this organization foward through your support and prayers. She also pledged her undevided support to the Provincial Women’s Network including all its programmes and endevours.”

Colonel Zimela Dembula imparting some of her wisdom and experience as a former Provincial Champion said, “You were nominated as people who will be able to withstand all challenges facing the organization.  Your election signals the rise of the Provincial Head Office executive as for a long time we didn’t have a structure but relied on Clustersor Districts.  This road is long and it needs strong leaders like you. Your executive is inclusive with young and old who have a variety of skills, utilize them and do the best of your ability.”

Provincial Women’s Network Champion, Col Lungi Sabane thanked all in attendance and encouraged the elected executive to shout for support anytime they needed it as they not only represent themselves but represent all women in this organization.
