Police seek next of kin of accident victim

GQEBERHA – SAPS Mount Road detectives are seeking the next of kin of a pedestrian who was fatally injured on the N2- freeway near the Stanford Road bridge on Friday morning, 06 August 2021.

It is alleged that at about 11:35, the driver of a Mitsubishi bakkie was driving towards Cotswold when the pedestrian suddenly appeared on the road and was hit him on left side of his vehicle. The pedestrian approximately 55-years-old died on the scene. His identity is still unknown. He was wearing blue jeans, a yellow T-shirt, a pink T-shirt and a black jacket.

A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.

Anyone who can assist police in identifying the deceased or may know any person that has been missing since Friday, 6 August 2021, is asked to contact D/Lt Col Cokisle Mfunda  at SAPS Mount Road on 082 442 1305 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
