GONUBIE – The SAPS detectives are searching for three (3) unidentified suspects following an armed robbery which took place on Saturday afternoon 24th July 2021 at a farm in Gonubie, East London.
According to the information, at approximately 14:00 a 39-year-old female was at home at the farm when three suspects approached the victim. One of the suspects pointed her with a firearm as she was driving out of the farm gate, and was instructed to go back to the farm house and office.
They further instructed her to show them the safe, whilst at the same time hitting her with a firearm on her upper body. Inside the office, they took one firearm Rifle, two (2) laptops, handbag, two (2) cellphones and a wallet with undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspects whose ages are unknown, left the farm using the victim’s vehicle, a white Prado. No shots were fired during the incident. No injuries sustained. At about 3 kilometres away from the farm the victim’s vehicle was found abandoned next to the road. A case of armed robbery has been opened for investigation. No arrest has been made at this stage.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Zithulele Dladla has condemned the attack on the farm and has appealed to members of the public to work closely with investigators for a speedy arrest of those involved.
