Police detectives seek information in two separate murder incidents

SARAH BAARTMAN – Police are investigating the murder of an 89-year-old elderly man, following the recovery of his body inside his Storms River home. Another body of a man was found with stab wounds lying on the street in Valencia, Addo this morning.

On Sunday morning, 1 August 2021 just after midnight, police were summoned to a complaint of a person lying in the street in Valencia (Addo). At the scene, police found the lifeless body of a man with two stab wounds in the upper body. The deceased was identified as Asekho Tsilito (25), from Mqanduli. Police opened a case of murder for further investigation. At this stage, a motive for the attack is unknown. Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect (s) to contact the Addo detective standby number on 082 441 7906.

In a separate incident, on Saturday, 31 July 2021 at about 16:00, the body of Thomas Glen Love (89), was found in his house with two stab wounds in the upper body. The deceased’ tenant, who is staying in an outside flat became concerned after she last saw him on Tuesday, 27 July 2021. She contacted the police, after she peeped through a window, and saw his upper body covered in what seemed like a towel. At the scene, Love’s body was found with two stab wounds in the upper body.

Investigations revealed that the deceased’s wallet, his laptop and a television set were missing from the house. One of the room’s windows was broken, and a kitchen door was not locked and its key was hanging from the inside. A case of murder was opened with an additional charge of house robbery.
