QUMBU: In a joint operation by Qumbu Detectives and Vispol members in the early hours of 30 July 2021 at Upper Tyira and Mthozela location yielded positive results.
Police members busy with the operation received information from a complainant who reported 198 sheep as stolen from his kraal at Mthozela location and he also confirms that a case was opened.
The police acted swiftly and one suspect was arrested and the other one fled, however members of the joint operation are hopeful that they are going to arrest him as he is known and can be identified. Sixty eight sheep were recovered and taken to Qumbu stock pounding.
Suspect is due to appear before Qumbu Magistrates’ Court on Monday 02 August 2021 for the possession of suspected stolen stock whereby the complainant identified his stock as per the case opened during March 2021 at Qumbu.
Imminent arrest can be at any time for second suspect who fled the scene.
