EASTERN CAPE – A 56-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of drugs, dagga and a 9mm pistol with magazine.
In the early hours of Tuesday, 27 July 2021, around 01:30, an Intelligence driven operation led by members of Maluti K9 and the office of Crime Intelligence Units yielded positive results at Solomzi locality at Thembeni admin area.
The members followed up the information at the suspects homestead and while searching the suspect’s house, illicit drugs, dagga and a pistol magazine loaded with 2 rounds were recovered.
A 56- year-old suspect was arrested and appeared briefly at the Mt Fletcher District court facing three 3 counts.
Count 1: Possession of drugs
Count 2: Possession of pistol magazine and Ammunition.
Count 3: Possession of dagga.
He was remanded in custody for further investigation.
The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph applauded the intelligence driven operation and the recovery of the drugs and firearm.
