STERKSPRUIT- Multidisciplinary approach intervention on Gender Based Violence by SAPS and their colleagues from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) began today in the Joe Gqabi District, Sterkspruit.
Members on parade were addressed by Maj Gen TI Dyantyi who appealed to the members to be vigilant during the executing of their duties and take cognisance of Covid-19 protocols to ensure their safety.
The Joe Gqabi Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Adolph in his welcoming address to the members said that “today members are here to show that the SAPS in this district will not tolerate any form of Gender Based Violence and Femicide and Domestic Violence”
Different groups comprising of the Junior Management Core, Men For Change, Women’s Network and Operational Members were deployed in Kopano, Mehlomakhulu JSS, Silindeni JSS, Tlokweng SSS and Jonas Goduka Primary School to address issues of Gangsterism, Bullyism and Gender Based Violence.
The focus today will be on a softer approach of Social Crime Prevention through School Awareness Campaigns addressing different crime related topics to the learners.
