EASTERN CAPE – On Thursday 09 September 2021 at 02:00 – 06:00 a multidisciplinary roadblock was held on the N9 national road between Aberdeen and Graaff-Reinet
The departments that formed part of the roadblock were, SAPS, Provincial Traffic, Municipal Traffic, Graaff Reinet K-9 Dog Unit and Emergency Services.
The focus area included, enforcement of the Covid-19 regulations and the Road Traffic Act.
Successes:
*Four hundred and twelve (412) – vehicles stopped and checked.
* Forty-two (42) Traffic fines issued – (R 152 000-00)
* Three (3) J534 fines issued- (R 3000-00)
The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier John Lebok welcomed the multi-disciplinary operation held and sensitize the community to ensure that motor vehicles are road worthy and to comply with the regulations as set out in the Road Traffic Act.
