Pretoria: On Monday 05 July 2021, the South African Police Service (SAPS) will kick-off its vaccination roll out programme to start the inoculation of the country’s police officers.
Police Minister, General Bheki Cele together with the Acting Minister of Health, Mmamoloko Kubayi and the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Khehla Sitole will lead the SAPS COVID-19 vaccination launch.
Minister Cele and General Sitole will form part of the first group of police officers and SAPS personnel, who will be vaccinated on the day.
The SAPS plans to vaccinate over 180 000 employees at the 108 registered vaccination sites across the country, starting from the 8 July 2021.
This is part of Governments National COVID-19 vaccination programme to vaccinate the general population, frontline workers in the security cluster and occupational-health workplace services.
