DURBAN: Yesterday police officers from the Umzinto K9 Unit were on patrol along Bisset Street in Umkomaas when they noticed a vehicle with no registration plates driving recklessly.
The said vehicle was chased and intercepted. The Umkomaas Task Team and detectives also assisted. Upon searching the vehicle, cash of R6564,00 was found hidden underneath the spare tyre. Further investigation led the team to the suspect’s house at V Section in Umkomaas and a search was conducted.
Upon searching the house, police found 27 capsules of heroin. The 20-year-old man was placed under arrest for possession of drugs. He will appear at the Scottsburgh Magistrates’ Court today.
