Four suspects in court for possession of car breaking implements

DURBAN – On 13 June 2021 at 11:30, the Durban North police officers were conducting patrols on Swapo Road in Durban North when they received information about a vehicle with four males suspected of stealing cars.

The team proceeded to Radar Drive where a vehicle was spotted parked next to another vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle was blocked by police and all the suspects were cornered. A search was conducted inside their vehicle and police found computer boxes, eight vehicle keys, seven spanners, engine controller, signal jammer as well as other items.

Four suspects aged between 33 and 40 were placed under arrest for possession of car breaking implements. The suspects will also be profiled to check if they are linked to other theft of vehicles reported in Durban and surrounding areas. The suspects appeared before the Durban Magistrates’ Court today. They were each granted a bail of R5000-00 and the matter was remanded to 22 June 2021.
