PRETORIA – Two suspects aged 32 and 46 are expected to appear at the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Pretoria on Friday, 2 July 2021 after they were beckoned to face charges of fraud and forgery.
This follows an extensive investigation by the Hawk’s Serious Commercial Crime investigation team in Johannesburg regarding the suspects who allegedly submitted fraudulent document in support of the vehicle asset finance application.
The application for Range Rover received in May 2012 was approved and the applicant took the delivery of the vehicle. However the financial institution did not receive the follow up payments and consequently suffered a financial loss of over R 700 000. 00.
Preliminary investigation by the Hawks revealed that the applicant allegedly acted in concert with his friend who later received the vehicle for his personal use. They were subsequently served with court summons on the 11 and 16 June 2021 to face two counts of fraud and forgery.
