Duo convicted for armed robbery in Upington

NORTHERN CAPE – The Regional Court of Upington sentenced Kamogelo Prusent (20) and Ronald Andreas (25) to seven years imprisonment on Monday, 31 May 2021 for armed robbery.

It was reported that three men arrived at a filling station during the night of 30 July 2019 and robbed the cashier who was on duty at gunpoint. They took cash out of the till and a cellphone belonging to the female cashier. The three were identified through a CCTV footage and were later arrested.

The case of the third accused is still pending further investigations.

The Acting Station Commander of Upington Colonel Martin Christians commended Constable Bahedile Nkwadipo for a job well done.
