MDANTSANE – Detective, Warrant Officer Phumelele Tile’s quest for justice was rewarded when the accused was sentenced to a ten year jail term in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s yesterday, 5 August 2021.
The accused was arrested after he allegedly stabbed the deceased to death. The two were fighting over a girlfriend in NU7, Mdantsane in 2016. The victim was rushed to a local hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
The damning evidence given by detective Tile to the court convinced the Magistrate to sentence the accused, Anele Gwayana (26) to effective ten years direct imprisonment.
The family of the deceased welcomed the sentencing and applauded the detective for his relentless effort.
