DURBAN – An intelligence driven operation that was conducted at a call centre in Umhlanga led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man for dealing in dagga. The suspect was arrested yesterday morning by Phoenix Trio Crime Task Team following an operation. The police received information about a man that was dealing in drugs at a business premises in Umhlanga who was driving a vehicle.
The police wasted no time and proceeded to the said business premises and spotted the said vehicle. They approached the driver, requested to search the vehicle and 84 grams of hydroponic dagga with an estimated street value of R8400-00 was recovered. The vehicle was also seized and taken to police pound for further investigation.
The suspect was arrested and charged for dealing in dagga. He was detained at Durban North police station and is set to appear before Verulam Magistrate’s Court today.
