The City of Cape Town’s Roads and Infrastructure Department today, 2 June 2021, has started with the slope stabilisation of the embankment along a segment of Kloof Road in Clifton. If all goes as planned, the construction work should be complete by 30 June 2021.
Residents and road users in Clifton are advised of the temporary lane closure and that traffic moving in both directions on Kloof Road will be affected. Flag personnel will regulate traffic by means of a stop-and-go system.
Work has been planned for the following hours:
• 07:00 to 17:30 on Mondays to Fridays
• 07:00 to 17:30 on Saturdays
‘Although traffic flow will be impeded, we can assure residents in the area that they will be granted local access to their properties as soon as practically possible, while allowing the proposed construction works to continue as intended. We ask that all road users cooperate with the workers on site so that we can ensure that the works are completed as efficiently as possible. The project team will keep to the working hours as far as possible, but this may vary from time to time depending on the circumstances on the ground. We thank you in advance for your patience’, said the City of Cape Town’s Spokesperson, Luthando Tyhalibongo.
