The Water and Sanitation Department will be replacing defective valves on the water supply main to Gaylee, Austinville, Greenfields and Dennemere next week.
This work will result in residents in Gaylee and Austinville being without water while Greenfields and Dennemere will be experiencing lower than usual water pressure from 09:00 until 17:00 on Thursday, 17 June 2021.
Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for use during this period. Residents are also requested to ensure that all taps are closed to prevent water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.
A water tanker will roam through Gaylee and Austinville to provide water for domestic consumption where required.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that the City maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
