Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu delivers keynote address in a memorial service of the late Sergeant Nyameko Mbelani

DUTYWA – Amathole District Commissioner Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu thanked the Mbelani family for borrowing the SAPS such a dedicated member during a memorial service that was held in memory of Sergeant Nyameko Mbelani who died in the line of duty on 01 June 2021 when he was patrolling the streets of Dutywa.

Dutywa SAPS Acting Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mphetshethwa said they have lost a humble member who was eager to ensure that the community is safe, ” it is not only SAPS that is saddened by this tragic also the community because he was known as a disciplined Police Official, ” he added.

 

The SAPS Chaplain W/O (Rev) Ngcephe comforted the families reading from the book of Psalms 23 “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil for you are with me”

Mr Mbelani from the family appreciated the efforts from SAPS from the day their son lost his life in the line of duty.  Mbrlani will be laid to arrest on Saturday 12 June 2021 at Cafutweni Location, Centane.
