WESTERN CAPE – During their ongoing fight to rid the streets of the SAPS Bothasig precinct from drugs, members from the local police station, working in partnership with members from the Provincial Organized Crime Narcotics Unit, dealt the drug trade a serious blow on the evening of 26 July 2021.
Members executed a raid at a residence in Bothasig which had been under surveillance for a considerable time as a result of information received from various members from the local community regarding suspicious activities.
During the raid, members recovered and seized various drugs such as tik, mandrax, dagga, cocaine, ecstasy and other drugs to the value of R83 000. On the premises members also found counterfeit cigarettes, and other presumed stolen property.

Various cellphones and other electronic equipment that are suspected to have been used by the suspects have also been seized for inspection during the ongoing investigation.
Two suspects, a 46-year-old male and a 25-year-old female were arrested and detained on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of counterfeit and presumed stolen goods. They will appear in Goodwood Magistrate’s today.
