WESTERN CAPE – The primary focus of police members to significantly reduce the number of firearms in the wrong hands, resulted in arrests in the Western Cape.
Since the recent deployment of the Anti-Gang Unit in the Strand policing precinct, 12 suspects between the ages of 21 and 39 years old respectively were arrested for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as possession of drugs.
A total of 13 different calibre firearms and ammunition as well as drugs including an undisclosed amount of cash were seized during these intelligence driven operations.
