Anti-Gang Unit probes triple murder and attempted murder cases after shooting in Delft

CAPE TOWN – Anti-Gang Unit detectives are probing a triple murder and attempted murder cases following a shooting incident that occurred in Leiden, Delft on Tuesday evening.

Reports indicate that an unknown number of suspects started firing several shots on the corner of Umvoti and Sabi Streets at 19:05 fatally wounding three persons and injuring two. A 22-year-old woman and two men aged 39 and 28 died on the scene. A 13-year-old girl and a 33 year old woman sustained serious gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital for medical attention.

The incident is believed to be gang related. Anyone with information that could assist the police investigation is urged to contact police on 08600 10111.
