Operation Basadi conducted by SAPS Katlehong members
Katlehong SAPS members joined hands in celebrating women’s month. The operation led by women in blue, CPF, Youth Crime Prevention Desk members and patrollers.
Roadblock was conducted along Leondale road at Spruitview. While the roadblock still in progress, a 25-year-old man is arrested while walking pass the roadblock for unlawful possession of dagga. About eight small bags of dagga with the street value estimated to R80 were seized from his possession. Arrested suspect is expected to appear in Palm Ridge Court soon.
Station Commander Brigadier Albertina Vesi is highly impressed with the job well done by the women in blue during the operation. She also thank the communities of Katlehong, those working hand in hand with the police, and encouraged the communities to join the CPF and patrollers in the SAPS.
Imbokodo women in blue shows that they can fight crime, especially during women’s month. Other motorists were issued with fines such as J534 for failing to adhere with the road regulations.
No vehicle pass without being searched, and they left with no stone unturned.
Pamphlets in relation to women abuse were distributed to the motorists and at Spruitview shopping centre.
Operations will continue up until the end of August 2021.
