LUSIKISIKI- An ongoing operation which started on 01 June 2021 proved to be successful as it left a positive mark in the community of OR Tambo District and in particular surroundings of Lusikisiki.
Special focus has been given to Lusikisiki as the Event Matrix has outlined a sudden increase in sexual offences, murder and gang rape crimes within Lusikisiki and it’s localities.
The on duty parade was conducted at Lusikisiki SAPS where members were briefed on the hot spot areas and divided into respective groups before they proceeded to the CBD, Hombe Village and Ngobozana Village.
The operations were aimed at
-Monitoring the Non Compliance of the Covid-19 Disaster Management Act.
– Monitor the Liquor Act Regulations
-Police Visibility and stamping of the authority of the state,
-Ensuring the safety of all South African citizens,
-Vehicle Check Points (VPC)
-Conducting of stop and search,
The following successes were made:
-Dangerous weapons were confiscated
-Expired drivers license
-Expired Motor vehicle license,
-4x J534 issued for failure to wear a mask in public place,
During the Off Duty Parade, Operational Commander, Colonel Loyiso Ngalo thanked the members for their hard work and dedication. “Colleagues together we can beat this, your efforts tonight have proven to be great team work and spirit. We expect nothing but excellence going forward, he concluded.
Operations are expected to go on until Sunday, 06 June 2021.
