EASTERN CAPE – A 25-year-old suspect, Sandise Ntsikithi, appeared in the Mthatha Magistrate’s court on Thursday, 29 July 2021 for allegations of police murder and armed robbery.
This follows an unyielding probe by the Mthatha Serious Organised Crime Investigation team which resulted in the arrest of the first suspect, Ayanda Tutu (38) during a joint operation with Gqeberha Tactical Response team and Flying Squad on 20 July 2021.
It is alleged that on 18 June 2021, at about 18:30, two unknown gunmen entered the house of Sergeant Mphakameli Mazinywana (48) at old Payne Location in Mthatha and fired several shots fatally wounding him. The suspects fled with his service pistol.
The matter is remanded to 02 August 2021 for formal bail application by both accused.
