Western Cape Government to hold digital press conference to set out position on Constitution 18th Amendment Bill

Tomorrow, Premier Alan Winde will hold a digital press conference to unpack the Western Cape Government’s comments on the Constitution Eighteenth Amendment Bill, 2021. This is the same Amendment Bill which seeks to amend the Constitution to allow for expropriation without compensation.

The press conference follows a submission to the Provincial Cabinet, which was supported unanimously, to submit the Western Cape Government’s comments on the Amendment Bill to the Ad Hoc Committee on the Amendment of Section 25 of the Constitution. The comments have since been submitted to the Ad Hoc Committee.

Premier Winde will be joined by the Minister of Agriculture, Dr Ivan Meyer.
