BRITS – The South African Police Service (SAPS) vaccination drive in Bojanala Sub-District 1 (Brits) saw employees turning up to get their jabs on the first day at Mmakau vaccination site. The site was opened as part of the provincial vaccination rollout programme that commenced on Thursday, 08 July 2021.

The Station Commander of Hartbeespoortdam, Colonel Willem Robbertse, expressed his gratitude for receiving his jab as it will minimise his chances of infection and infecting others, being a public servant.

Community Service Centre member at Hartbeespoortdam, Sergeant Eizabeth Mtshali, said the following after getting her jab: “I feel relieved. I have been waiting for this and I am proud, because I managed to take the vaccine.”

Acting Communication Officer, S/Sec Maria Nkabinde, said that she did not experience any pain. She encouraged fellow employees to get vaccinated.

“As management of the South African Police Service in the district, we would like to assure our employees that we have their best interests at heart in response to the pandemic. Thus, we are calling upon every employee to vaccinate,” said Major General Modisagaarekwe Mosimanegape.
