Police operations lead to successful arrest

DURBAN – A 37-year-old suspect is appearing before the Chatsworth Magistrates Court today for being in possession of drugs. Yesterday, a multidisciplinary operation involving various units in the SAPS produced positive results when they recovered drugs and arrested the suspect.

On 1 August 2021 at 18:00, police proceeded to Woodhurst in Chatsworth after receiving information about a man who was in possession of drugs, conducting his business in an open field. Police officers pounced on the suspect and he was searched.

He was found in possession of 26 pieces of rock cocaine and one large piece of crack cocaine. The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is R23 000-00. He was arrested and detained at the Chatsworth police station.
