NORTHERN CAPE – Persistent endeavours to curb the trade and distribution of drugs in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District paid off.
On Friday, 06 August 2021 an intelligence driven operation led by Crime Intelligence members in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District and Kimberley Flying Squad members resulted in the confiscation of dagga with an estimated street value of R3 500-00 at a premises in Glenred outside of Kuruman during a disruptive operation.
The suspect who was identified, as a drug dealer was not found on his premises during the raid. However, plastic bags filled with dagga were found hidden outside the house.
The operation sent a strong message to the drug dealers, that police will not be deterred to raid and clampdown on drug dealers.
The Acting District Commander of the John Taolo Gaetsewe district, Brigadier Francis Hender lauded members for their relentless efforts which prevented drugs from reaching its destination in Glenred village. “These disruptive actions will send a clear message to drug dealers that we will squeeze the space preventing them to operate.”
