The Director General of the Department of Public Service and Administration, Ms Yoliswa Makhasi, has taken the opportunity to express appreciation to public servants for their patience during the 2021/2022 wage negotiations.
The Director General said the salary negotiations have now concluded and a collective agreement has been concluded, which has two components:
A Non Pensionable Cash allowance effective from 1 April 2021, as follows:
Level Amount
• Levels 1-5 R1220.00
• Levels 6-7 R1352.00
• Levels 8-9 R1450.00
• Level 10-11 R1640.00
• Level 12 R1695.00
A once off 1.5% pensionable increase for all employees on Salary level 1 to 12:
The once off allowance will be implemented not later than 15 September 2021 and the implementation of the 1.5% pensionable increase will be announced as soon as possible.
The Director General thanked public servants for the service that they continue to render and in making a difference in the lives of citizens, especially the poorest of the poor, in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic.
