STERKSTROOM: The Regional Court sentenced two males and one female for murder and defeating the ends if justice.
Two accused Siyabulela Tsholoba (44) and Sakhele Palie (38) were sentenced to life for murder and five years for defeating the ends of justice while Xoliswa Mabala (38) was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murder and 5 years for defeating the ends of justice.
During 23 November 2019 the deceased Sbonelo Hermans went together with his friend to the accused house to buy tobacco and while they were there they were accused of theft. The deceased was assaulted and stabbed to death while his friend managed to escape. After he was dumped near the river by the accused.
A case of murder and defeating to ends of justice was.opened and the docket was assigned to Detective Warrant Officer Blandile.
On Monday 28 July 2021 the case was finalized and all suspects were found guilty and sentence will run concurrently.
Acting Chris Hani District Commissioner Brigadier Pumla Mavuka congratulated the member for his commitment.
