The City’s Water and Sanitation Department has to do urgent repairs on its 450mm diameter water supply main supplying a large portion of the Bellville area due to a leak on this pipeline. The repairs have been planned for Thursday, 12 August 2021 from 19:00 until 07:00 on Friday, 13 August 2021.

This will result in the disruption in the water supply to the following areas:

• De La Haye (Belgravia),

• Bellville CBD (south of Voortrekker),

• Belrail,

• Sanlamhof,

• Dunrobin, Stikland,

• Triangle Farm,

• Saxon Industria,

• Shirley Park,

• Labiance,

• Bellville South,

• Bellville South Industria,

• Greenlands,

• Sack’s Circle,

• Glenhaven,

Although the City would normally prefer to provide more advanced warning for such a significant water outage, repairs have already been delayed by unavailability of materials, and further delays cannot be accommodated due to the severity of the leak.

Residents and businesses are kindly requested to store water upfront for use during this emergency repair. They are also requested to keep their taps closed to prevent any water wastage and/or damage when the water supply is restored.

Water tankers will be roaming through the areas to provide water for domestic use where required.

The City regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers
