Thank you to all bidders from various communities who participated in the City of Cape Town’s first online property auction held on Wednesday, 30 June 2021. Due process is currently being followed so the results of the auction can be finalised and then communicated.

The City’s first property online auction was an opportunity for the public to purchase City-owned land that is not required for municipal purposes, via a mandated competitive bidding process.

A large number of bidders attended and bids were received on all properties put on offer. However all bids are subject to a 15-day business day acceptance period by the City therefore the results of the auction will be confirmed and communicated at a later stage once due legislative processes have been concluded.

There were 45 lots (some lots include more than one property) on the auction list. All information on these lots and properties can be viewed on the auctioneers website https://www.highstreetauctions.com.

The revenue generated will be used for service delivery throughout the city.
