City advises of temporary water supply disruption in Blouberg Ridge, Bloubergstrand and West Beach

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be doing an upgrade on the 300mm diameter water supply main at the Perlemoen pump station in Bloubergstrand on Thursday, 17 June 2021 resulting in the disruption of the water supply to these areas between 08:00 and 17:00.

The work involves the installation of a non-return valve and two control valves that will minimise the impact on surrounding communities if maintenance is needed on the pipeline. This work will however result in Blouberg Ridge, Bloubergstrand and West Beach experiencing low pressure or possible total loss of supply during the upgrade.

Residents and business owners in these areas are kindly advised to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period and are also advised to ensure that their taps are closed that they don’t incur any water loss or damage when the supply is restored.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
