Two suspects behind bars for possession of unlicensed ammunition and possession of unlicensed firearm

GAUTENG – Two men aged 27 and 30 years were arrested by the members of Eldorado Park Crime Prevention Unit on Thursday 5 May 2022.

The successes are results of the random stop and searches conducted by the members in Slovo Park, where a 27-year-old suspect, was found to be in possession of unlicensed live ammunition. The members who continued executing their random stop and searches, furthermore found 30-year-old man at Jamila’s Centre along Silwer Street in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Both suspects are arrested and are expected to appear in court soon on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of unlicensed live ammunition.

 

Community members are advised to refrain from possessing illegal and dangerous weapons/ instruments.
