SANRAL Board and Minister Mbalula to detail progress made following cancellation of tenders in May

The Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula will join the Board of the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) as it gives an update on progress made following the cancellation of some of SANRAL tenders amounting to R17.473 billion.

In May,the Board indicated that these tenders were cancelled due to non-compliance with a Board resolution and lapses that were identified in the procurement process. The Board also indicated that the cancelled tenders will be re-advertised and another public entity approached to handle the tendering process.

The media briefing will address progress made since the announcement of the disapproval to award as well as measures to be followed to ensure that the process is completed within the projected time lines.
