Cape Town: The South African government has announced a series of significant activities for the week of 24 – 28 February 2025, aimed at advancing various sectors within the country.
According to South African Government News Agency, the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, will lead the week by hosting a high-level workshop in collaboration with the World Bank and GSMA. This event, scheduled for Monday, 24 February, seeks to accelerate access to affordable smart devices for all South Africans.
On Tuesday, 25 February, Deputy Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Seiso Mohai, will visit the Thabo Mofutsanyana District Municipality in the Free State. This visit is part of the 2025 Back-to-School Programme, focusing on educational planning and evaluation.
The week continues with Premier Alan Winde’s delivery of the 2025 State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Wednesday, 26 February. This address will highlight the Western Cape Government’s plans for the upcoming year and review its accomplishments over the previous year.
Thursday, 27 February, will see Public Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dean Macpherson, embarking on an official working visit to the Middle East. This visit, spanning from 20-27 February 2025, aims to attract infrastructure investment into South Africa.
The week concludes on Friday, 28 February, with Parliament hosting the sitting of the permanent committees and pre-sitting meetings of the Pan-African Parliament, which have been ongoing from 18-28 February 2025.
