The Water and Sanitation Directorate is embarking on a project to determine the cause of the high water consumption in the Sunningdale and Table View areas. This will involve a technical team which will be using specialised equipment to do the tests. This equipment will be temporarily attached to the fire hydrants and valves in the area without interfering with the water supply.

The technical team doing the tests will be clearly identified by their City of Cape Town branded clothing and identification cards and will be accompanied by Water and Sanitation branded vehicles.

This work forms part of the City’s Water Demand Management Strategy. Managing water consumption more effectively reduces the possibility of unaccounted for water as well as water wastage.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
