Alleged thief summoned to appear in court for former employer’s missing money

GAUTENG – The Pretoria Magistrates’ court released a 47-year-old man charged with fraud and theft, on a warning for the alleged former employer’s missing money.

It is reported that between 2013 and 2014, the accused, Moses Yende was employed by a fuel station in the Hercules area, north of Pretoria, where some of his responsibilities were to load the Automated Teller Machines (ATM) inside the convenient store, with cash.

Allegations on this matter are that, Yende manipulated the system and acquired R890 000-00 for himself, unauthorised.

The case was transferred to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Pretoria for further probing which instituted a summons to appear in court on fraud and theft charges against Yende.

On 11 May, the investigation team served Yende with a summons to appear in court on Wednesday, 25 May.

The court released Yende on a warning and is expected back on 07 June this year.

The matter is postponed for legal representative.
